The PTA offers parents the opportunity to meet other parents and staff at the school, learn what is going on at Rockfield, be involved in your child’s school activities, and contribute to the school in what ever way you can.

There are multiple ways to join! The packet sent home with your child before school starts has a Membership Form in it, fill it out and return it at Open House. If you forget your form just stop at the PTA Membership Table and fill out a form. If you missed the chance at Open House simply print off the Membership Form, fill it out and send it in with your child ANYTIME throughout the year! Your child's teacher will forward it to the PTA.

Throughout the year the Rockfield PTA contributes to school activities through volunteer hours and financial support. We are able to provide financial support based on the money we raise through the PTA Fundraisers.

We work with our principal, and the school staff to identify needs at the school and how we can assist. Some examples of our special projects are:

  • In 2012/2013 the Rockfield PTA will be working with our Mrs. Cross, our Reading Specialist to improve classroom libraries as well as support the purchase of new Guided Reading materials that go with the new reading curriculum that the Germantown School District has purchased this year.
  • Smartboard Initiative –at the end of the 2011/2012 school year we have helped purchase Smartboards for EVERY classroom at Rockfield!
  • Classroom Support – provide funds to each grade level for purchase of needed supplies/enrichment activities. In November 2011 we purchased 30 iPad covers for Rockfield's iPad cart used by all students at Rockfield.
  • Community Building- From Rocktober, to our Walk a Thon, to Lunch with a Loved one, to Teacher Appreciation week and luncheons, our PTA works to bring the Rockfield families and staff together for fun events.
  • First Stage Theater/Camp Minikani – PTA pays for these events and transportation in alternating years.
  • Reflections – coordinate student participation in the PTA national art competition
  • Family Support – provide financial support in areas of hot lunch assistance, field trip assistance, etc. In 2011 the monies earned from the Holiday Shop provided 29 gift cards to Rockfield families in need. As of January 2012 the PTA has started a Hot Lunch Assistance Fund which helps provide a hot lunch to a child who's account has run low of funds.
  • 5th Grade Moving Up at the end of the school year
  • School Directory – provide all families with a listing of Rockfield students
  • Yearbooks – we snap photos, coordinate and design a year's worth of memories
